Bob Marley & The Wailers - Live! (Half Speed Mastering)
Bob Marley & The Wailers - Live! (Half Speed Mastering)
Bob Marley & the Wailers were at their peak of artistic powers when they arrived at the Lyceum Theatre in London for two shows in 1975, having just released Natty Dread the year before and about to unleash Rastaman Vibration on the world. Passionate and symbiotic energies constantly cycle between the band and audience, the net result of which is one of the most memorable concert recordings of the era.
This record was pressed using a precision technique known as half-speed mastering, in which the source master and cutting lathe run at half speed on a specially adapted Neumann VMS-80. The result is a cut with excellent high frequency response and solid stereo images. In short, half-speed mastering produces a superlative master of the highest quality.
